We are currently looking for Nursery Practitioners for a term time and After school/holiday club positions.
Term time Monday to Thursday 9 am - 6 pm Friday 6 am - 3 pm.
Holiday club Monday to Thursday 9 am - 4 pm one week at Easter and 5 weeks in summer holidays
Level 3 in Child care is essential plus a clean DBS and a willingness to sign up to the update service.
We are a registered charity and work with children with behavioral and physical needs alongside mainstream children. Applicants would need to have an interest in SEN and communication and language delay.
The main role and response abilities: -
To promote a positive attitude and encourage positive behaviour which welcomes children of varying backgrounds and cultural experiences.
To act as a Key Worker to a group of children working in partnership with the parents/carers
To cater for all the needs of their children, working with outside agencies when necessary.
To understand children’s individual needs appropriate to their age and level of development.
To contribute to the planning and organisation of activities on an individual and group basis by participating in regular staff meetings and curriculum planning.
To communicate daily with parents with regards to their child’s progress in order to ensure their confidence and trust in the Nursery.
To ensure all relevant information regarding the children is recorded. All files should be available to parents and outside agencies with up to date information.
To ensure that Stepping Stones Play and Learn Group policies, procedures and working practices are adhered to and the necessary standards of care and development are continually delivered.
To review own performance and training needs and attend appraisal.
To assist in the training of student nursery nurses.
To ensure the nursery runs efficiently in all areas, bringing all concerns to the management, and help plan and implement any changes needed.
To attend and participate in staff meetings, and open evenings, in-service training and summer respite.
To follow health and safety guidelines, checking all equipment, reporting accident or incidents relating to the children, staff or visitors. To highlight any concerns to the management and to contribute suggestions for future improvement.
To maintain a flexible approach to the changing needs of children.
Ensure the Nursery represents the Stepping Stones ethos of inclusion respecting the needs of the whole family in a professional, caring manner always.
To work as part of the team respecting each other and working together to create a happy, caring environment for both children and staff.
To work as part of the team providing after school care for children with special needs age five to eighteen years.(full time staff only)
